Yercaud
Yercaud, in Salem District, Tamil Nadu, is a less explored and undiscovered hill station that is located in the Eastern Ghats at an altitude of 1515 meters (4970 ft) above sea level, in the Shevarayan range of hills (anglicized as Shevaroys). The word Yercaud is derived from the Tamil words yeri and kaadu, which mean lake and forest, respectively. The Cauvery peak place itself gives you the feel of you being in Kashmir / swiss. such is the beauty and the weather adds up to this. Views of the private lake, Kombai valley viewpoint, within a coffee plantation, etc are all very beautiful.
The ticket cost per head – Rs. 500 – is very costly but you can consider doing it once. GENT'S SEAT
Yercaud Bus Stand & 500m from Lady’s Seat, Gent’s Seat is a wonderful viewpoint in Yercaud town close to Lady’s Seat. The Gent’s Seat is one of the prime attractions of Yercaud visited along with Lady’ Seat.
The viewpoint offers panoramic views of Salem town and Ghat Road. It is a nice place to watch the sunset.
There is a small watch tower near the point offering breathtaking view of the plains below. The view from Gent’s Seat is more spectacular at night with thousands of light twinkling in Salem town.
It is a very pleasant place and visitors can either travel by a private vehicle or just walk from Lady’s Seat. It is a must visit place for nature lovers.

Best Time To Visit Yercaud
The serene atmosphere and breathtaking views of Yercaud can be enjoyed at any time of year. However, October to June is the best time to visit Yercaud because of its cool, dry weather. Every year, a seven-day Summer Festival is organized in May with several activities namely flower exhibitions, dog shows, boating races, and village carnivals.
